About this event
At the New York Film Festival, Valeska Grisebach discusses her research-intensive approach to filmmaking, collaboration with nonprofessional actors and inventive use of genre. The conversation accompanies her fourth feature, The Dreamed Adventure, and offers a chance to hear how the director of Western develops stories through sustained observation and collaboration. This is a one-hour filmmaker talk, not a film screening.
German, Austrian or Swiss connection
Grisebach was born in Bremen, Germany. She studied German literature and philosophy in Berlin, Munich and Vienna before training in directing at the Vienna Film Academy, where her teachers included Michael Haneke. She is a German filmmaker with a substantial additional Austrian educational connection.
Admission
